May Altar

My memory

I remember preparing a little area in my bedroom every May, so that we could have a May altar. May was the month of “Our Lady” and so we gathered flowers from the garden and ditches. Little jars were kept to be used as vases. We had a small statue of Mary and surrounded it with primroses. I always felt the room was different during this month. Even after May was over we sometimes continued putting fresh flowers in the vase.
