May Altar

By James Molloy

My memory

When I used to pass my neighbours house I always used to see in the month of May a May altar with the statue of Our Lady and daffodils, bluebells and primroses on the window sill each side of Our Lady. Along time ago we used to put up a May altar on the top of the press and my mother used to put flowers around the altar, they were called primroses, bluebells and daffodils.

When did this happen?

1980s (approximately)
