GAA MEDAL

By NIAMH O SULLIVAN, 2nd Year

Standing out in the stadium grounds

Icy winds stinging our faces

We stood impatiently

Hoping that this match will take us places

They were positioned with the ball

Fifteen individuals standing opposite

Two different colours

Chanting out Irelands Call

We roared till our throats dry

Nobody stood still

My ears were buzzing

Listening to people cry

Sportsmen jumping

Medals thumping against chests

Looks of pride in the eyes

We had won it

A new found possession

It was all worthwhile.
