Ballinderry Sword
By Marta Ledwandowska, 1st year.
Because like everything and everyone it is
Always forgotten by time
Long ago feared in
Ireland by now forgotten ones
Now it is left as a memory for the
Dead ones, the ones killing and murdering and the one
Everyone thinks they know but only some
Remember about the brutal way they were living
Remember the things they did
Yet only some care enough to remember the
Sword as a weapon, but now only a symbol to their eyes.
Weatmeath was where it tried to hide, dug
Out of the ground because of the need to know more.
Right now we can only wonder about its past
Don’t you forget now some secrets can’t be found out.
